For some tasks it might be necessary to extend the capacity of the basic units of the net-line FW-5 product family as required. Depending on type and constellation, up to 12 extension modules can be connected to one telecontrol unit.
The so-called TBUS connector, which ensures communication with the base unit and also the power supply for most expansion modules, makes the connection convenient and uncomplicated. If the power supply of the base station is not sufficient, the PWR-1 can provide additional 2.8 A as an additional power supply. The TBUS Remote I/O extension also allows the integration of expansion modules in remote islands with additional power supply.
Power measurement module for recording relevant mains variables in low and medium voltage systems. Measuring currents using current measuring transducers CT. Voltage measurement in LV network, direct or via transformers VT. Calculating Ieff/Ueff TRMS, ULL, P, Q, S, W, f, THD, power factor, active and reactive power and temperature of the module in the field.

The TBUS extension offers a low-cost method for coupling distributed feeders and remote measuring points to a telecontrol system. Instead of installing a complete FW-5, or needing elaborate cabling of signal and measurement lines to a central RTU, expansion modules of the FW-5 family are installed in a decentralised manner and connected to the TBUS extension with a patch cable.
