A dense and extensive road network is now taken for granted by us all. This is thanks to the responsible motorway maintenance authorities and regional road-building organisations. In addition to the maintenance of roads, their tasks include the operation and maintenance of a large amount of technical equipment.
For trouble-free operation, the following entities must be monitored, among others: Pump stations, car park toilets, tunnels, motorway maintenance authorities, signal and traffic management systems, transformer stations, motorway lighting, cable houses and cable monitoring systems.
In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, around 200 installations are monitored with our systems. SAE solutions help to increase the availability of the installations and minimise down times. For data transmission to the control centres, FO links, dedicated lines, public services such as GPRS and DSL and classical dial-up links are used. For particularly important installations, the link is provided with redundancy using different media. Messages can be allocated in a prioritised manner to the different transmission routes. Thanks to the modular hardware and software concept, very specific tasks such as the integration of an access control system can also be implemented without problems.
